This obligation covers, for example, any Claim arising out of or related to: the accuracy, completeness, integrity, or compliance of your products and services; or any data made available to or from your products or services, or the direct or indirect use of that data in HST or downstream systems.

This website is the source of truth for current versions of the Materials. You can keep copies of the Materials for yourself. You may distribute them only by linking others directly to the Materials on the website.

HST provides the Materials for your use, and you decide how to use them to interoperate with HST's Medpointe software and provide your products and services to end users. With this freedom comes the responsibility to make sure your products and services are behaving appropriately. Accordingly, as between you and HST, you are solely responsible for your products and services, including how they interact with HST Community Members' systems, and for all liability and consequences (e.g., Claims by or on behalf of patients or related to patient harm; data corruption; mapping or saving data to patient records incorrectly; fraudulent or other unethical conduct, such as inappropriately prescribing narcotics or zeroing out a balance due; degraded system response time, performance, and availability; privacy breaches; and security vulnerabilities) that arise from or relate to the use of or inability to use your products or services, or that arise from or relate to data made available to or from your products or services or direct or indirect use of that data. You are also responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including not infringing on HST's or others' intellectual property rights.

Where possible, please help our mutual customers avoid surprises by working closely with them and directing them to HST with any questions related to HST software.

If you want to use HST's name or other trademarks, you may do so only in accordance with our Trademark Usage Guidelines. These terms of use do not authorize you to use an HST's logo or other intellectual property.

Direct access to HST's software (including an HST Code Portal's system) is not needed to develop, test, deploy, or support your product or service. You can test your product or service through the portal.viewmymed.com sandbox or by working with a particular HST Customer Practice.

Direct access to HST's software can be granted only with approval from both an HST Customer Practice.

You own what you develop using the Materials. HST owns the Materials, as well as any HST-provided improvements to the Materials or learnings based on the Materials, such as enhancements made by HST to testing tools or documentation. We want to encourage a vibrant developer environment. If you suggest a way to improve the Materials, you are granting HST the right to use your suggestion in any manner, including as part of the Materials for others to use, and without any obligation or notice to you.

The testing sandbox made available through portal.viewmymed.com is meant to simulate an electronic health record environment and is for testing purposes only. The testing sandbox should be populated only with sample or synthetic data. You agree not to put individually identifiable information in any HST-provided sandboxes. You acknowledge that HST may wipe or otherwise remove data from those sandboxes in its sole discretion, including any individually identifiable data discovered in a sandbox.

This website and the Materials are not intended and should not be used for performance, scalability, or security testing. Even so, if you identify an actual or potential security vulnerability with HST software or the portal.viewmymed.com Components, you will inform HST about such vulnerability as soon as possible so that HST can address the issue.

New York law will govern all disputes arising out of or relating to these terms of use, regardless of conflict of laws rules. These disputes will be resolved exclusively in the federal or state courts of Monroe County, New York, and you and HST consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

These terms of use will be severable so that if a provision is not enforceable, it and related terms will be interpreted to best accomplish the essential purpose of that unenforceable provision. However, severability will not apply if it significantly changes the benefit of these terms to you or HST.

Fees

What Fees Are Assessed?

Health Systems Technology, Inc. encourages open development and access to our data. We consider this a value added service for all of our valuable customers and patients. Health Systems Technology, Inc. does not charge any fees for the:

  • Usage of this integration for development or production use
  • Access to production data (<10 Requests/Minute/Customer Practice, 1 Active Export Job)
  • Access to sandbox development data
  • Access to documentation
  • Break/Fix Updates

Health Systems Technology, Inc. may assess fees for the:

  • Development of Endpoints Not Included in US FHIR Core Version 4.0.1 (https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/US-Core/)- $120 USD/hr
  • Provision Of Dedicated Project Server(>10 Requests/Minute/Customer Practice, More Export Jobs)
  • Consulting
  • Maintenance and Support

A Request is defined as an invocation of an API endpoint.

Enrollment Process

How do I get access?

Health Systems Technology, Inc. encourages open development and access to our data. The process is simple to gain access to the system and start developing!

To start, you must first register a new account from the main screen. We will need your email address, and for you to confirm your email address as valid. After creating an account, you will be free to create a new application under the "My Apps" menu option from your dashboard.

An application is integrated using a standard technology called OAuth v2.0, and data is accessible via a standard RESTful API technology. This stack of technologies is known as SMART on FHIR and can be used to develop healthcare tools that fully understand the current patient context and to allow for applications tailored to all EMRs. This standard is known as the US Core FHIR.

Please refer to the Limitations section below for details on ensuring a good experience on production jobs.

You can develop your own application to leverage our APIs.
  • For Developers: To publish your application, after logging into the Developer Portal, you can select the "Production" setting on your API configuration. This will inform us of your production readiness and we will enable access to scopes not limited to our sandbox data. It will take 1-2 business days for us to review what data elements were accessed and allow for the same level of access for production use. For non personal use, we request and confirm a business phone number to ensure validity, and to ensure non automated processes or malicous usage of our systems.
  • For Providers / HST Customers: You can access your developer portal by clicking on the System Menu in Medpointe and selecting Token Management. This will open the Developer Portal directly via single sign on. From there, you can select the "Production" setting on your API configuration. This will take effect immediately and your application will be ready for use.
  • For Patients: You can access your developer portal by clicking on the Developer Portal under the Security section under your ViewMyMed chart account. This will open the Developer Portal directly via single sign on. From there, you can select the "Production" setting on your API configuration. This will take effect immediately and your application will be ready for use, however its scope will be only limited to charts you can view within the system.

We will not share any information with any third parties.

This process is FREE and WITHOUT CHARGE.

Happy Coding!

Limitations

Why do I have a limit?

The Medpointe Developer Portal and the SMART on FHIR implementation are a shared production resource for all of our clinics. In order to fully leverate all clinical data for a customer practice, it must first be enabled on a system level via contacting our support desk. This is the same as enabling access to the patient portal for the clinic. The data is encypted at rest and at storage. Support will seed the server with the requisite data to support your clinical project.

Because of this encryption, the data is available for patients immediately, as all data will have been seeded as per normal patient use. However this needs to be enabled at a system level for a full data load to occur per each provider practice. HST will do this without charge. Please work with your support representative to have this data loaded.

All document data is generated on customer's servers, and thus we have a limit of the number of data requests as the process renders and converts the documents in real time. The limit that we have placed is 60 requests a minute per customer practice; to ensure efficient processing and to ensure mimimal impact to clinical workflows. Thus if an expedient bulk load is needed, or a higher throughput is needed, HST may choose to assess a one time, flat rate fee to ensure the resources are available when needed to minimize impact.
